FISCHBACHER 1819 - Discoveries on the Silk Road

Fischbacher 1819 expands the narrative universe of The Silk Road through a capsule collection of carpets created in collaboration with Zollanvari, a historic manufacturer specialising in the artisanal production of hand-knotted carpets.

The rugs present themselves as a layered material surface, in which the design emerges as a fragmented landscape: irregular backgrounds, overlapping patterns, chromatic blocks reminiscent of architecture eroded by time, cities crossed by caravans, traces left by the wind on the sand.

The soft, three-dimensional texture enhances the depth of the pattern, transforming each carpet into a vibrant surface that reacts to light. The craftsmanship is evident in every variation in tone and every colour transition, making each piece unique — handcrafted by nomadic women of the Ghashgha'i tribe, whose weaving traditions give every carpet its one-of-a-kind character.
