Corà Legnami_Cartella stampa_2023Milan Design Forest: the Trees of the Forest
During Milan Design Week 2023, Corà will be presenting “Milan Design Forest: the Trees of the Forest”, an installation with an ethical value whose protagonists are trees, the symbol of life, and forests, the lungs of the world.
The concept recalls the problem of climatic change and highlights the importance of urban forests in collective consciousness, to make contemporary cities “greener” by building ecological homes choosing materials that are sustainable, first and foremost wood: unique, renewable and recyclable, naturally alive and resistant.
This hundred-year-old company, with a division dedicated to producing and marketing design flooring and coverings made of wood, explores new scenarios that can support the convergence of indoor architecture and the creation of natural finishes: horizontal surfaces become wall coverings and furnishings, able to make spaces dialogue in a style continuum.
The suggestive open-air gallery in Via Dante 2 (Piazza Cordusio), in the very centre of the metropolitan city, will have eight trees with large crowns that recount the strength of a company that is rooted in wood.
The philosophy that inspired “the Trees of the Forest” of Corà originated from an analysis of the creative needs of designers, based on organization models that are frequently more flexible, functional and changeable.
As such, the trees will be coated with different types of wood, which represent some of the countless decorative possibilities that are available for architects and interior designers for furnishing spaces, taking nature and wellbeing into living spaces.
Wood species like Cedro, Wenge, Padouk, Zebrano, Okoumé will be presented, together with the Wave, Fabbrica 4.0, Forever and Metal Luxury wooden floor lines, and the series of panels made from natural and engineered veneers, used for creating furniture and furnishing elements.
They are natural materials that hold inside the past as an expression of life, of skin that changes, of colours that change direction, and first-time sensations that must be explored.
Architects who pay attention to the value of eco-friendliness welcome Corà’s message, preferring wood as the material for building the future: inspired by a sign, a knot, the most uneven and material aspects of nature, they can create design projects that are bold and unique, with a low environmental impact.
