Illuminating Bodies and Sculptures in Borosilicate Glass

From April 13 to April 28, 2023, in conjunction with the 2023 edition of Milano Design Week, the gallery spaces of Antonia Jannone Disegni di Architettura are hosting LINEA D'OMBRA, by Marco Zanuso Jr, and WATER, by Marta Sansoni and Andrea Ponsi, two exhibition projects dedicated to the design of lighting fixtures and the design of borosilicate glass objects, respectively.

LINEA D'OMBRA, an exhibition project born from the idea of Marco Zanuso Jr on the deconstruction of the lamp in its physicality, presents about 30 luminous objects expertly created by skilled artisans. Colors, lights and shadows, projected by the objects on display, allow us to reflect on the interdependent relationship between surface and light source. Cylindrical shapes and parabolas, different materials used for lamp construction, paper and aluminum models tell the viewer about the process of lampshade making, from the first two-dimensionality of the design to the solidity and three-dimensionality of the finished project.

The WATER exhibition project, curated by Marta Sansoni e Andrea Ponsi in collaboration with FIDI-Florence Institute Design International, will be on display in the spaces in front of the Corso Garibaldi gallery. 

Marta Sansoni and Andrea Ponsi have involved a team of like-minded designers in terms of poetics and design skills to reinterpret the theme of sculpture-design in borosilicate glass. 
In a run of three pieces each, thanks to the material realization by the master glassmaker of excellence Massimo Lunardon, the designers involved - Lorenzo Damiani, Giulio Iacchetti, Raffaella Mangiarotti, Massimo Mariani, Andrea Ponsi, Lorenzo Palmeri, Franco Raggi, Marta Sansoni and Mario Trimarchi - were asked to create evanescent and transparent sculptures like water, without any function, making use only of this particular material.
