Infinitude. A circular lighting experience
In occasion of MDW 2023, Qu presents the temporary installation "Infinitude. A circular lighting experience" designed by Parisotto + Formenton Architetti and curated in the lighting design by Fulvio Baldeschi, founder of Light Company. The circular, organic and integrated project, embraces the garden and the interiors, where light is the common thread of the experience.
The concept
The concept stems from the desire to provide the visitor with a complete sensory experience, in which light and sound converge in suggestions capable of taking us elsewhere to the cosmos. The circularity of the forms becomes a recurring element that leads to the discovery of the different spaces and the conceptual approach of Qu.
Outdoors and indoors
A long luminous path guides the visitor through the courtyard; circles of light mark the garden as stages of the itinerary, intersecting with the surrounding nature, and becoming drawings created by the light on the ground.
The interiors are conceived as a white box, in the center of which, a circular lounge is surrounded by greenery. The room is punctuated by lighting fixtures on the ceiling and on the wall from the Magritte collection, aggregated in constellations that create suggestive luminous designs.
The greenhouse is the climax of the itinerary and symbol of nature’s permeability that takes over the indoor spaces. In this venue, plants and light together create suggestive atmospheres, changing whether experienced by day or by night, and whether viewed from inside or outside.
The experience
The installation features an avant-garde sound design in visual interaction with the lighting fixtures present in the exhibition space. A dynamic and changing sound carpet is the result of an experimental work that uses electronic melodies from space, redesigned from an artistic and musical point of view.
The sound-luminous experience explores new expressive possibilities and questions the relationship between user-space-light-universe.
