’CRUX’ – A Celestial Exploration in Illumination
Investigate the profound mysteries of the cosmos with CRUX, the latest luminary series by Melbourne-based lighting studio CHRISTOPHER BOOTS. Inspired by one of the most recognisable constellations in the southern hemisphere, this newly developed range explores the natural geometries of the five stars that form the Southern Cross.
CRUX embraces new methods and materials, expanding the studio’s repertoire. Locally crafted in Melbourne, textured blown glass emerges as a striking addition in the work of CHRISTOPHER
BOOTS, signaling a new direction for the studio founded in 2011.
Debuting at Milan Design Week 2024, an introduction to the CRUX collection. Showcasing an exploration of materials and with pendant and sconce variations, all crafted with blown glass and brass finishes.
Curated to celebrate the narrative of CRUX, the exhibition offers a distinctive and celestial perspective on lighting design by CHRISTOPHER BOOTS. The exhibition will explore the studio’s design process, immersing viewers in an artistic experience that evokes a celestial wonder and showcases the narrative of CRUX in an evocative display of materiality.
