HONSHITSUTEKI (本質的) | Dieffebi: The Essence of Form

Dieffebi

Minimalism, harmony and essential design

For MDW 2026, the Dieffebi showroom is inspired by the codes of Japanese culture in an exhibition project by Elisa Ossino: Ma (empty space as an active element that enhances the furnishings), Kanso (simplicity, elimination of the superfluous, expressed through geometric rigor and purity of lines), Shibui (subtle, minimalist elegance favoring muted tones), Datsuzoku (freedom from conventions, reflected in versatile and dynamic furnishings), and Wabi-Sabi (natural beauty, perceptible in calibrated transparencies and tactile materials that create welcoming, human environments).

Dieffebi’s modular and customizable furniture – from accessorized shelving to consoles, from desks with sound-absorbing panels to armchairs, sofas, daybeds, poufs, tables, and chairs – interacts with scenographic backdrops, transparencies, textures, premium materials, and soft finishes, creating functional, ergonomic, and inviting spaces. The installation distills design to its essence, conveying a sense of calm and “silent strength,” transforming the showroom into a sensory and emotional experience.
