MATTERS OF REFLECTION

In the Renaissance setting of Palazzo Banfi in the heart of Milan’s Design District, CEA presents its dedication to the world of design through an exhibition path that combines the essence of design with the elegance and enduring nature of the material that defines it: stainless steel.

On the occasion of Fuorisalone 2026, Matters of Reflection will be presented: an immersive installation that explores reflection as a design material, a physical phenomenon, and an introspective dimension.

The work originates from an investigation into the qualities of polished stainless steel, chosen for its ability to transform surfaces into dynamic fields of light and imagery. Through an articulated system of mirrors and reflective planes, the space multiplies, fragments, and recomposes itself, generating a fluid and constantly evolving perception. Matters of Reflection creates a dialogue between matter and perception: on one hand, it highlights the technical and formal properties of steel; on the other, it activates a process of personal reflection. The visitor is not merely an observer but an integral part of the installation; their presence alters the work, becoming a visual and narrative element. Reflection thus manifests on multiple levels (optical, spatial, and emotional) transforming material into experience. Steel is not merely a surface, but a sensitive material capable of amplifying light, environment, and identity, shaping a dialogue between design, technology, and awareness.
