Barbieri Magalini: “Frames of reality” with Bizzotto Italia
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2026, the creative duo Barbieri Magalini presents “Frames of Reality”: their pop-up home poised between order and imperfection, where a scene unfolds suspended between what has already happened and what is about to happen. A project for Bizzotto Italia, with The House of Lyria, cc-tapis, USM, Amoraw Studio, Rowland+Broughton & Nason Moretti, FuocoVoodoo, Reparto + J Meseguer and others.
“Frames of Reality” is an installation curated by the creative duo Barbieri Magalini that explores a facet of their vision of interiors: the beauty of imperfection. A home becomes truly beautiful when it embraces the spontaneity of real life, shaped by a natural balance between order and imperfection. The views become still frames suspended in time: fragments of everyday life poised between what has already happened and what is about to happen. A quiet home, where the position of objects is the result of simple domestic gestures: a partially set table, a chair slightly moved, a flower placed with a spontaneous motion.
“For us, the home is the place of the unfinished: a space where we can escape the logic of performance and surrender to desire, curiosity, experimentation, and even boredom as a vital force for creativity. With Frames of Reality, we wanted to continue our exploration of conviviality, through the telling of stories that connect people, spaces and objects.”
