Milani presents the new collections from the PLACES catalog

New products, new designers, new materials and new project directions.
At the Milan Fuorisalone (20–26 April 2026), Milani presents new collections conceived to move across domestic, workplace, hospitality and public spaces.

Soft seating, chairs and tables with gentle, fluid forms, enriched by tailored details and a comfort that returns to the centre of the design process, driven by the growing desire to feel at home everywhere. They are designed by Basaglia + Rota Nodari, Alessandro Crosera, Giovanni Ingignoli, Meneghello Paolelli, Margherita Rui, Skrivo, Alessandro Stabile and Matteo Zorzenoni.

The installation MILANI PLACES. Living the Project takes shape in the Gabriel Fabrics showroom and traces the evolution of the Veneto-based brand, which expands its universe of furnishings through new collaborations with Italian designers and an increasingly project-oriented vision focused on living and contract spaces.

The title recalls the PLACES catalogue – published at the end of 2025 to celebrate the company’s fiftieth anniversary, curated by dogtrot and Margherita Rui – and engages with the theme of Fuorisalone 2026, “Essere Progetto” (“Being a Project”).

A hybrid vocation characterises all the new pieces on display. Many mark the beginning of new collaborations: such as the Folda lounge chair by Alessandro Stabile and the series of armchairs and sofas Dada by Meneghello Paolelli, Hull by Skrivo and Astrid by Matteo Zorzenoni, who also designed the Frida armchair. Others arise from consolidated relationships: with Margherita Rui, designer of the Hibi chair, and Alessandro Crosera, who designed the Njuta chair and the Type One tables. Completing the proposal is MI Wood, a wooden-shell evolution of the MI Chair by Giovanni Ingignoli. The installation also features selected metal pieces from the indoor and outdoor SpazioMILANI collection by Basaglia + Rota Nodari: the new Castore coffee tables and Infinito lounge, together with the Polluce and Lunapiena lamps.

Thanks to the collaboration with Gabriel, the Folda and Hibi chairs – both developed according to principles of circularity and disassembly – will be presented in a new version upholstered with Cura Loop, a fabric entirely made from textile waste and fully recyclable. Its soft volume, matte surface and delicate mélange effect give the upholstery a natural and understated aesthetic capable of bringing warmth to the design of the furniture. Developed through a textile-to-textile recycling process that transforms waste into new high-quality fibres, Cura Loop demonstrates how formal research and a circular approach can coexist, extending the lifespan of materials and reducing waste.

Open from 20–24 April and from 27 April–22 May 2026, the installation curated by Matilde Sessolo of Mask Design Studio traces Milani’s evolution from its sartorial origins to its most recent projects, focusing in particular on themes of customisation, high-quality upholstery and the virtuous lifecycle of products. The exhibition unfolds across seven environments. At the entrance, a sculptural sewing machine becomes the narrative starting point, in dialogue with a wall of spools that accompany the entire display as a tactile and visual thread.
