Sofia Zevi presents Una Stanza
Sofia Zevi presents “Una Stanza”, a room conceived as a vessel for the conjoined visions from the collective imagination of the textile editor Chiarastella Cattana, the architect Edgar Jayet, and the glass artist Akira Hara.
“Una Stanza” investigates tensions within the otherworldly feeling of encountering a familiar and well-known thing in a situation that is not. Set in a historical building in the Brera neighborhood, the room is crowned by a luminous beamed ceiling of green blue that instantly disrupts any preconceived ascetic notion of the gallery space.
Chiarastella Cattana introduces a new collection of textiles, presented in “Una Stanza” as wall coverings for the room and upholstery for the furniture collection made in collaboration with Edgar Jayet, entitled "Unheimlichkeit". Akira Hara presents a new collection made up of ten monochrome vases. “Una stanza” is complemented by the addition of Yali Bar, a secret bar that opens itself to reveal exquisite Murano glassware, lighting, and fixtures designed by Yali Glass.
