The site-specific work by artist Aljoscha
Tempesta Gallery and artist Aljoscha present a site-specific work in the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli
For this year's Fuorisalone, the renowned church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, better known as the church of Sant'Angelo and located in the heart of Milan's historic centre, will become the stage for a public artwork.
Ukrainian artist Aljoscha, known for his biofuturistic creations that explore the relationship between biology and aesthetics, will present a site-specific installation that will transform the church's place of worship into a unique visual and sensory experience.
The impressive church building, which encompasses almost five hundred years of history, the lives of Francis of Assisi's sons, and important interventions by famous architects who contributed to the current project such as Giovanni Muzio, will host an innovative and scenic work that, in contrast to its surroundings, will create an evocative dialogue between ancient and contemporary art.
Aljoscha's work will not only respect and enhance the beauty and sacredness of the church's large space, which moves between refined decorations and Baroque motifs, but will also offer a new perspective on its history and architecture, inviting the public to reflect on the connections between humanity, nature and beauty.
The installation will be visible from 14 to 21 April with free access
The following days and times: Monday-Friday 7:30am-7pm / Saturday 7:30am-12pm and 4pm-7pm / Sunday 10am-1pm and 5pm-8pm
