BROOT is a project promoted by ASSIMAGRA, with the purpose of valuing Portuguese natural stone and promoting the national industry through a collection of uniquely designed pieces.
With stone as the central element, the pieces created for this first collection invite a dialogue between different natural materials that emerge from the earth, sourced from various regions of the country.
More than just a project that fosters dialogue between different Portuguese materials, BROOT is a tribute to the delicacy and fertility of what springs from the earth. It is a celebration of stone as a fertile raw material—one of the natural elements that best represents human evolution—brought into conversation with various other materials.
This journey has been driven by the force of time, a passage through thousands of years that has led us to the present—the moment in which we set out to explore a raw space where stone is transformed, gaining new life through art.
Titled “Dialogues”, the first BROOT Collection is curated and produced by OLIVAH and emerges from the dialogue between designers, artists, and architects with different contemporary artistic visions, including Studio Anansi, Studio Olivah, Vítor Reis Cerâmica, JMM Design Studio, and Estúdio Eneida Lombe Tavares.
Thus begins the story of BROOT.
