Concept hotel dedicated to sociality and design

Milan Design Week 2025 - Sitia, Codutti, Olev, Matteo Pala and Opificio participate in Milan Design Week 2025 with the Caleido Social Hotel: a concept hotel that transforms the concept of hospitality into an immersive and social experience. Curated by Caleido Diary magazine and designed by MM Company, this space hosts a selection of furniture and accessories signed by the five Italian design companies.

Sitia, founded in 2002 and inspired by the spirit of “the human contract”, is an Italian brand specialising in the production of contract and residential furniture, with a particular focus on quality upholstered furniture “made in Italy”. Codutti, on the other hand, is an Italian brand specialising in workspaces and contract furniture. Founded in 1954, the company offers a complete range of solutions from executive desks to meeting and common areas. The lighting is provided by Olev, a Made in Italy brand that creates original design lamps with intelligent lighting. It is distinguished by a smart light design that includes soundproofing, air purification and reproduction of sunlight and its variations. Matteo Pala's handcrafted carpets bring a synthesis of tradition and experimentation into the space, the result of a family history inspired by a fascination for faraway lands, with a passion for continuous research and bespoke production. Completing the selection is Opificio, whose story began in early 1957 with a small cabinet-making workshop for the production of custom products for the furniture industry. Today, every Opificio product is the result of a combination of craftsmanship, technology and design.

Caleido Social Hotel is not just a showcase, but a living, authentic environment that reflects on the new functions of contemporary hotels: places for conviviality, networking, remote working and sociability. The project is configured as a space with an analogue and highly Instagrammable flavour, where design dialogues with the everyday life of social areas, inviting visitors to experience the furnishings in a spontaneous and natural way.

The concept was conceived by the creative duo Barbieri Magalini, founders of Caleido Diary and MM Company. Their distinctive approach revolves around the concept of conviviality, understood as the ultimate aim of design: to connect people, making them feel good and stimulating their well-being, sociability and creativity. After the Caleido Contract Café in 2024, the evolution into Caleido Social Hotel explores another place where, in today's society, people can meet, living an immersive experience that combines design, culture and sociality.
