Quattro - a taste of light

For Milan Design Week 2025, QU returns to the heart of Brera with an immersive installation that celebrates light as both a functional and expressive element. "Quattro – a taste of light" marks the fourth Fuorisalone exhibition by the Ravenna-based company, created in collaboration with art director Aldo Parisotto of Parisotto+Formenton Architetti. From April 8 to 13, the temporary showroom at Via Cernaia 7 will invite visitors on a sensory journey through light and conviviality, exploring its power to transform spaces and influence emotions.

CONCEPT
"Quattro – a taste of light" is built around the relationship between light and hospitality, unfolding across four distinct environments. Each space is designed to reflect different moments of the day and ways of experiencing light, offering an immersive journey akin to a sensory tasting. From the entrance on Via Cernaia, visitors are welcomed by a perspective glimpse of a "secret" garden—an invitation to discover a hidden oasis within the vibrant Fuorisalone setting. The project seamlessly blends bespoke and standard solutions, showcasing QU’s versatility in both indoor and outdoor lighting design.

EXPERIENCE
The journey begins in the garden, where an en plein air setting welcomes visitors with bistro tables nestled among camellias and a majestic magnolia tree. A relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by battery-powered lanterns and discreet lighting fixtures, creating an intimate and evocative ambiance. A mini-kitchen inside the greenhouse offers a unique vantage point on the interplay between light and dining, with luminous accents that evolve throughout the day.

Inside, three distinct settings further explore the narrative of light. The first room features a horseshoe-shaped chef’s table illuminated by a site-specific chandelier that casts a warm, enveloping glow. The second, a more intimate space, is centered around a large round table—perfect for long conversations—enhanced by lighting fixtures from the Product Book 2025, carefully designed to enrich the atmosphere. The experience concludes in the working lounge, a dedicated space for relaxation and connection, featuring a cozy living area and a spacious communal table.

By using just four collections of indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures, the installation clearly embodies QU’s mission: to ensure design coherence and continuity through a single, versatile, and distinctive lighting approach.
