Ancient Memories, an archaeology of fabrics through time

Fischbacher 1819 and Marcel Wanders present Ancient Memories, a capsule collection of natural fabrics created in collaboration with textile artist Caterina Roppo. The result is a collection that goes beyond decoration: each weave is a container of memory, a thread connecting past and present, interweaving histories and cultures.

The heart of the collection focuses on hemp, an ancient and noble fibre, chosen for its durability and the respect that Marcel Wanders and Fischbacher 1819 share for nature. Hemp not only resists the passage of time, but also copes with it, prolonging the life of the product; when its cycle is complete, it returns to the earth without a trace. By combining hemp with jute and wood-derived fibres, Marcel Wanders and Fischbacher 1819 have created textiles that not only tell the story of nature, but remain intimately connected to it.
