FLUX METAL and FLUX TABLE: fluid in surface, solid in cycle
DAIKAN presents FLUX TABLE, a table prototype developed in collaboration with 130 (ONE THIRTY).
The project brings together DAIKAN’s precision manufacturing and master craftsmanship, concept development and material direction by FEEL GOOD CREATION, and structural design and spatial implementation by 130.
At the core of FLUX TABLE is FLUX METAL, a new metal expression with an almost liquid appearance. Its mirror-polished surface shifts with light, creating a sense of movement even in stillness. Supporting it is a lightweight yet solid base derived from 130’s structural grid. The contrast between a fluid surface and an unwavering structure defines the essence of FLUX TABLE.
Within the project, 130 led the design and spatial implementation that translated FLUX METAL as a material expression into FLUX TABLE. By elevating DAIKAN’s highly advanced technical capabilities into a definitive product and integrating space and narrative, 130 collaboratively drove the exhibition as a whole.
Through the integration of material, structure, and space, FLUX TABLE explores movement, resilience, and circulation. It reconsiders furniture not as a fixed finished object, but as something that exists in a state of change.
